24-hour crisis line provides trained advocates that are able to answer questions, provide information and referrals, assist survivor in accessing other YWCA services and begin the intake process for SafeHouse for those in need of safe shelter. (810) 238-SAFE
Emergency response team (ERT)
Emergency response services are available for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through local hospitals and law enforcement. Advocates are available on-call 24 hours a day to provide emotional support to survivors during medical exams, explain evidence collection and criminal justice processes.
sexual assault Response team (SART)
SART, the Sexual Assault Response Team of Genesee County, is a victim-centered community collaborative effort designed to provide a coordinated response to sexual assaults in our community. This team consists of representatives from the Prosecutor’s Office, numerous police departments, SANE trained nurses and management from our local hospitals, Public Safety officers from area colleges and universities, Michigan State Police Crime Lab, and many other community partners. The team meets on a monthly basis to work on cross-training for service providers from each entity, improve victim support and communication, and assess the gaps of services in our community.
