Elizabeth Wise has served on the YWCA Board of Directors for over six years. She has served on the personnel and fund development committee, and as secretary of the board. Prior to becoming a board member, Elizabeth worked as a school social worker in the Chicago Public Schools and taught middle school Language Arts at Flushing Middle School. She is a Junior League of Flint sustainer, member of GENForward, former Safety Town teacher, and currently she co-chairs the Public Awareness Committee of the Genesee County Human Trafficking Taskforce. Elizabeth believes in advocating for those in need and empowering women though education and supportive resources. Born and raised in the city of Flint, Elizabeth is proud to be an active member in this community and call Genesee County home. She feels that not everyone is given the opportunity to change the world in big ways, but everyone, including herself, is presented with small ways every single day. Elizabeth is honored to serve on this board with these strong women in our community, and the dedicated leadership and staff that make up the YWCA of Greater Flint.
